I have a 2:00-3:00 minute audio review of The Kills recent show in the works, I still have to edit together some of the songs, so I thought I would outline what it is:
1. The Kills played at Terminal 5 on Feb 11. They celebrated ten years of popularity to a sold out crowd.
2. Alison Mosshart of The Kills said that three of her main influences growing up were The Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth and Patti Smith, all New York based artists.
3. Listen to The Kills' Venus In Furs clip, then listen to the original clip by The Velvet Underground.
4. At a rock show like this, whether the fans recognize it or not, it's a celebration of New York City's rock heritage.
Problem:
I'm having a hard time finding explicit information of the band saying who their influences are, and I don't want to make the mistake about generalizing-- i.e. Band 1 sounds like Band 2, so look: New York culture.
